Eminent Persons Strategy Series (AEPSS)

The Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) Eminent Persons Strategy Series (AEPSS), is another major initiative of ACSPN to promote a partnership with credible thought and business leaders, through creating a platform which seeks to address critical gaps in the development of Nigeria and Africa.

The niche of AEPSS is that it harnesses the communication and media perspectives of leaders who are not core communication or media scholars or professionals. This is an acknowledgement of the centrality of
communication to structures, systems and processes, irrespective of the sector of the economy and disciplines of focus.

It will serve as a forum for extracting, exchanging, and evaluating issues in a way which will further amplify the importance of the content and form of strategiccommunication at all levels of the private and public sector, nationally and continentally. As a non-partisan, intellectually stimulating forum for the public discussion of issues, it offers a point for distilling the long years of experience of speakers – in business, scholarship and the professions within current subsisting logics.

The lecture series would feature local and international leaders, and explore strategic partnerships with relevant organisations and institutions, to assure the required impact and outcome multiplier. The expected in-depth and creative analysis of informed output would target public policies and programmes. A dissemination framework is expected to evolve as part of the drive for the ownership buy-in required to re-invigorate a constricted space where logic appears to be in recess and primordial sentiments appear to be major drivers of public discourse and policy and administrative directions. The awareness and mobilization support for the realization of the ensuing policy ideas emanating from each presentation, is expected to flow from the stakeholder’s engagement.

The AEPSS furthers the ACSPN vision and mission to support the development of communication scholarship and practice in Nigeria With a track record which includes an Empowerment Series and a History Series, we continue to explore new options for the actualization of our core commitment. Indeed, as our slogan  states: the future is here!
