The role of communication in supporting governance and stimulating socio-economic development is increasinglybeing recognised in policy framework, locally and internationally. Communication is strategic in influencing behaviour and fostering social change in the context of development. It remains a vital catalytic force for connecting states with society, facilitating inclusive political systems, giving voice to the citizens and enabling participation and accountability. Accordingly, this conference is designed to provide a forum for communicators to brainstorm on the relevance, context and interconnections between communication, governance and development especially in Nigeria so that we continue to add value to policy formulation, good governance and the general development process.
ACSPN invites papers from its members/future members, interested individuals, local and international organizations, associations, institutions, agencies, the private sector and governments for participation in its 2017 annual conference to examine the theme: Communication, Governance and Development.
